Concept

Mota is a concrete marker and beacon with an austere design and a formal simplicity. It has a recessed lamp holder for lighting paths and delimiting public areas, without generating light dispersion in the upper hemisphere.

Its name comes from the sixth example of use given to the word “mota” by the dictionary of the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language. “A natural or artificial prominence with a low height that rises up above a plain”. This is justified by the place where it was installed, the paths of the river park on the Ranillas meander of the River Ebro as it passes through Zaragoza.

The faceted concrete volume in the shape of an inverted “L” includes a space for housing the lamp holder.

Mota is a small element made from dry mix concrete and with an etched stone finish, and is supplied in all the standard chart colours. Bega 22264 model recessed lamp holder and LED 20 W technology.

The Mota beacon is anchored to the paving or to a strip footing of 60 x 60 x 30 cm with two M16 x 60 threaded rods. With an opening at the bottom formed by a corrugated pipe for electrical wiring to pass through the concrete body.
