The chair Mod is designed by Monica Förster and has a restrained but supremely accomplished design. Seating comfort and chair design have become a specialty of the Swedish designer, and one she has developed and refined over the years. With the Mod chair, Förster and Offecct’s design department have created a compact, extremely comfortable chair that will last for a long time. Mod has a compact, lightweight look but is sturdy and comfortable to sit in. The seat and back have an organic feel and provide good back support. The back and seat are covered with a soft padding and are available with either a fabric or leather upholstery. Mod is equally at home in both public and private settings. The chair is stackable and easy to handle. Placing a number of the chairs around a conference table creates a flexible and useful furniture arrangement for the office, but the same chairs work just as well around a dinner table at home. A single chair also works well in a home office.

“I wanted to create a timeless chair that lasts a long time,” Förster explains. “Mod is closely related to Spoon but its form is a variation.”

“To me, the form conveys a sense of lightness, energy, speed and well-being. Reusing things is in vogue right now and I have taken a lot of the form from Spoon, which I know works well. The focus is on people’s well-being, both physical and mental,” the designer concludes.

Mod is eco labeled with the Nordic Swan label.
