Concept

The result of a unique collaboration between Carlo Colombo and the Centro Ricerche Giorgetti, this modular system clearly demonstrates the close relationship between Designer and Company. The MTM system by Giorgetti announces the return to clean, orthogonal lines, and the beauty of a minimalist aesthetic. Featuring a streamlined framework, the modular flexibility of the cabinet enables it to be customized as required. The exposed metal frame, finished in an elegant bronze-titanium shade, enables various sections to be put together, while the hinged doors allow some parts to be concealed and the numerous finishes available make each design unique.
Using metal for the structure is rather surprising for Giorgetti but it demonstrates the Company’s desire to experiment with new materials and construction techniques. Whilst increasing design flexibility, it also highlights the influence of expert artisan knowledge accrued by the Company over its 120-year history. That influence is evident in creative and decorative flexibility. The framework can be customized using completely different materials that only Giorgetti‘s superb artisan craftsmanship, which remains decidedly hands-on, can combine with the pinpoint accuracy required by metal processing.
