Nevada

Nevada is the first sofa designed by Frans Schrofer in Durlet’s range. Its concept is based on a paradox: developing a sofa that looks solid and comfortable yet seems to be floating and light-weight at the same time. A paradox at first, reconciled into one design.
The solid look is achieved through the broad backrest and the wide, single upholstered seat with plump cushioning for added comfort. The armrests are quite wide and can easily be used as a headrest. The front finish of the armrests and backrest includes a uniquely folded seam. The horizontal recessed seam detailing on the backrest reconciles the solid feel of the sofa with its lightweight appearance and breaks up the solid backrest while accentuating the comfortable aspect of the incorporated lumbar support.
The floating aspect of the sofa is achieved by the greatest detail of the design: the base. When viewed from the front, the slanted lines of the armrests transition perfectly into the curved shape of the metal frame on which they rest. Because of the continuous metal connection between the front and back legs, the sofa appears to be resting on a socle. The specially designed legs make all the difference. The metal frame is constructed from black chromium-plated steel – unobtrusive, while adding a classy finish to the design.
Right from the beginning, our Nevada sofa was designed to be a sofa as well as a modular concept. The sofa is available in the following widths: 170cm (two 60cm cushions), 190cm (two 70cm cushions), 210cm (two 80cm cushions) and 245cm (three 65cm cushions).
Those who prefer a sectional sofa or a chaise longue combination for their living room can use the seating modules based on those sofas that don’t include the armrest (and where the backrest finishes in a straight line as opposed to leaving a gap above the armrests). A chaise longue with a width of 95cm (70cm cushion) can then be positioned against those modules. When combined with the seating module that offers the same cushion width, the overall sofa width will be 260cm. The seating modules can also be used in combination with a diagonal corner module. Although it requires slightly more room, it allows you to use the corner as a seating area without this space being lost.
