With so much of our lives taking place online, there’s not as much holding people down to one area, city or even country anymore. But if our personal space is constantly changing, this nomadic aspect of modern life can also limit our ability to construct peaceful living. Once a space has been filled with character, warmth and personality, it’s often just not possible to recreate the same atmosphere elsewhere. The new home is mangled with clashing colours, unsuitable furniture and inappropriate lighting.

Scandinavian design brand MENU has a simple purpose: ‘To make the world less complicated and more beautiful.’ In collaboration with New Zealand-born designer Tim Rundle, MENU released the TR Bulb series, a technically sophisticated lighting fixture with an E27 connection instead of the standard electrical ceiling rose.

As well as a single E27 connection bulb and a range of pendants, the TR Bulb series also includes wall or ceiling sconce options and a stylish table lamp (pictured above)

Created specifically with a flexible design to fit a variety of spaces, the TR Bulb series can be fitted to any standard existing European standard light socket without the need for drilling or screwing into a ceiling. A perfectly environmentally friendly solution, fulfilling the ‘reuse’ part of the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ slogan, the TR Bulb’s universal connection removes uncertainty when changing the lighting.

The recently released Shiny Opal version of the light adds even more possibilities to the series to suit all tastes, fitting perfectly into the current TR Bulb collection of fixtures including table lamps, wall and ceiling sconces and various multi-bulb designs, along with the standard screw-fit pendant, meaning wherever life takes you, the classically minimalist look of the TR Bulb can follow.
