The intoxication of speed
From racing track to a world of experience: around two million guests travel each year to the Eifel region to experience the legendary Nürburgring. Reason enough for the operators to expand the motor sport location to a year-round leisure and business centre. Since mid-2009 there's even more on offer, from the weather-proof 'ring boulevard' and 'ring racer' roller coaster to the 'ring arena' event hall. A new tribune area in the start and finish straights and a new congress centre complete the range of attractions of the event centre. The Aachen architects' offices Tilke planned the complex, constructed in 2009. TRILUX in cooperation with Nürburgring GmbH (H. Stickel, Director Operations) and the commissioned architects (straussARCHItektur, Hanover) has designed and implemented a complete solution that effectively presents the new Nürburgring brand both in terms of outdoor architecture and interior areas.

A brand-related lighting concept for the legendary Nürburgring
The TRILUX lighting concept for both the interior and exterior aims to make the atmosphere of motorsport perceivable for visitors away from the racing track as well. Slender light pillars guide approaching guests along the federal road to the welcome centre. Here the red-white LED light floors are immediately noticeable: ground recessed luminaires reminiscent of the racing curves mark the access area and communicate a feeling of dynamics and speed when entering the Nürburgring.

The second entrance for the motor sport park is spectacularly highlighted with TRILUX luminaires: At the south-west end of the ring boulevard where the roller-coaster impressively rises into the air, secondary reflector luminaires illuminate the entrance area and the bridge that connects the leisure park with the Lindner congress and motor sport hotel. Incidentally: TRILUX not only demarcates the path to motor sport, but also to rock n' roll. The access to the northerly 'rock n' roll ring' festival location is equipped with TRILUX outdoor luminaires that every summer guide hundreds of thousands of music fans to the entrance.
