Simple, welcoming, versatile. The Just chair, designed by Iskos-Berlin is “just” a chair, yet a very special one. The award-winning chair collection has brought joy since 2013, and has now been accompanied by two new designs: a Just barstool and a new version of the chair with an oak base.
A shell chair with a quiet yet distinctive personality, which is constructed based on a visually simplified structure. Just is characterised by its subdued and harmonious idiom that makes the chair suitable for numerous environments and styles. Iskos- Berlin say:
"Just is not born out of the desire to design a different chair. On the contrary, we wanted to use innovative moulding and assembly techniques to achieve an elegant and subtle result, full of hidden details. Good design does not necessarily have to make a lot of fuss - those who want to will see the details."
The Just barstool is designed as an extension to the Just chair, and inherits its signature elements: the clearly defined shell shaped as a moulded “sandwich” of hard and light veneers as well as the light steel base, which is discretely integrated in the moulded shell, so that the chair naturally comes together as a whole. The barstool comes in two heights and is available with and without a backrest.
In addition to the barstool, the Iskos-Berlin design introduces a completely new dimension with the Just chair with a wooden base. The characteristic moulded shell is met by moulded wooden legs, which grow from the shell in the same resolute curve that can be seen in the arch of the seat. The outward-sloping wooden legs add a charming warmth and emphasis to the design.
The new Just additions are available in a black-stained version or with a natural finish in oak veneer. The base of the barstool is either chrome or powder-coated black. The original Just chair comes with 6 different finishes, and an upholstered version of the chair is also available. In 2014, the chair was awarded the international design prize Interior Innovation Award, which is issued by the IMM Cologne fair and the German Design Council.
