This stately vintage rug from Morocco features a complex latticework pattern embellished with ancient symbols and boldly drawn motifs rendered in a striking high-contrast combination of ivory and deep walnut brown. Stacked brick motifs, cruciform hac symbols, ladder motifs embellished with incremental hash marks, and goz symbols for protection against the evil eye decorate the individual latticework cells along with carefully divided checkerboard motifs used to nullify the effects of the evil eye.
