Shade

Dining tables from LEMA, Designed by Francesco Rota

Product description

Concept

A perfect matching between the bronze metal of the base unit and the thin top in contrast for the table Shade by Francesco Rota. The consistent measures for such a dining table (3,50 m long), make it perfect to be placed in the centre of the room: the sculpture base consists of delicate treated metal plates, asymmetrically crossed, in a warm bronze finish. It is name after the lights and shades evoked by such a metal grid. The top, available in different materials and finishes, better complements the unit. It is presented in Milan 2014 with a concrete top, according to a post-industrial taste but extremely refined and modern as well. The perfect mix between new proposals and units already present on the catalogue is a winning feature of the company, a buttonhole coming from coherent collections aiming at creating ambiences complying with the same spirit and mood. The table Shade is in fact matched with the chairs Bai Lu by the Chinese designers Neri& Hu, in the black lacquered ash and black leather version: shapes recall the classic oriental seats; a round-section structure supports a bent top, extending to form the soft line of the seat and back. The name means “white dew”, and it refers to the second week of September in the Chinese calendar, when the product was designed.
