Erik Ole Jørgensen became a classic in Danish furniture and textile design himself, having run his own furniture production business from 1952–1972 as well as designing furniture for Erik Jørgensen’s furniture factory and Kvist Møbler, among others. From 1971- 1991, he acted as artistic director at Kvadrat.

It was something of a coincidence that led to Erik Ole Jørgensen’s working with textiles. In 1953, he took part in a new furniture competition and was awarded first prize. When he came to use textiles in his newly designed furniture, he realised that there were no textiles to match the modern idiom of the furniture. He therefore chose to design the textiles himself, subsequently getting them produced. This was the start of a long career in the textile industry as a consultant and textile designer. Like Time, Trim was originally part of a 1987 curtain collection with which Kvadrat was first able to present a matt version of the Trevira fabric. The curtain drapes naturally like cotton, but has all the advantages of the Trevira CS fibre when it comes to washing and care. “My intention was to create a series of textiles that drape in a tranquil way, while also giving fresh impressions of colour,” says Erik Ole Jørgensen. Trim s a woven curtain with wide stripes in two colours. It can be combined with Time, since the colours match. The curtain is particularly suitable for all aspects of the contract market and it has been widely adopted in large public areas.
