Concept

Corale is a tufted woollen rug, which stands out for its dramatic and organic look: it is reminiscent of coral waving gently on a reef.

Corale features a highly original ‘filled’ tufted construction, which is created by surrounding a combination of felted and coloured wool with another layer of coloured wool and then felting them together. This gives the rug a beautifully rich expression.

The yarn designed by Liset van der Scheer for Corale is based on a traditional yarn that combines different core and outer tones. To reveal all the colours in the yarn for the first time ever she used a cut pile. In doing so, she created a pioneering and very distinctive look.
