Usukusuri, Matt black Raku ceramic (Piece of ceramic finishes fired in traditional kiln)

Concept

Master Yoshimura Rakunyu is one of the very few potters that make the well-known Raku ware in Japan. Continuing the tradition and long history of Raku ware, he creates unique tea bowls essential for the tea ceremony. Today Rakunyu is innovating to bring Raku ceramics out of the tea room. He created a series of vases, named "Space" (宙 - Chu), inspired by its floating effect, to let people enjoy the charm of tradition in their modern interiors.
