Concept

Founded in 1915 in Kyoto, Katayama Bunzaburo Shoten is a shibori brand manufacturer. The shibori technique is an extremely simple tie-dyeing technique that has been practiced since ancient times, in which threads are tightly wrapped around the fabric to prevent dyeing. Today, Katayama Bunzaburo creates products for fashion, interior and art. With designer Elsa Pochat, they created a textile art panel and a solid wood stool making the most of the shibori technique.
