Application

Single table
Sense can be used as a single table for individual working requirements. Power, wire management and privacy panels/screens provide a complete, independent office solution.

Back-to-back
Frames use a shared-beam concept, minimising the number of legs required. Height-adjustable legs and options for a toolbar with and without privacy panels ensure that whatever the communication requirement, collaboration activities can be managed

Clusters
Linear configurations are made easy with Sense. Standard length frames connect using patented connection devices to form the structure you require. Add to this returns or satellite tables to provide for further workspace, meeting or breakout options.

120 degree
Customer service, call centre or other team-based environments will benefit from the collaborative space that can be achieved using Sense in a 120-degree formation. Create small, working clusters or larger, group environments to offer the right collaboration requirements.

Meeting
An extended vocabulary means Sense can be applied to all areas of the office, including meeting and breakout areas. The fun, modern finishes and simple frame structure of Sense allows facility-wide application and offers a perfect solution for community spaces.

Home office
The simplicity of design and simplicity of build means that Sense is a perfect option for the office worker’s home office requirements. The wide choice of finishes and colours mean that your office will be exactly as you want it to be – and if you fancy a change, just do it. It’s designed to be easy.

Screens
Screening for sense is unique. Utilising an exclusive fabric for Herman Miller called Unity, screens come in a variety of colours to suit individual tastes.
All screening is designed to accept pinable accessories. Screens with toolbars can accept reversible tablets (pinable or whiteboard), power and paper management accessories. Screens without toolbars are designed for privacy only but allow the attachment of mini pinboards for tacking requirements. Sense can also be specified with just a toolbar, maximising collaboration between paired desks and allowing zoned privacy through use of tablet materials

Power, data and cable management
Sense provides a range of cable management products. There are cable support clips, a single cable basket, a double cable basket and an umbilical riser.
Cable support clips, small or large, can be mounted directly onto the frame to support and route cables. The small clip can also be added to cable baskets to separate power and data cables.
The single basket is used to manage a higher volume of cables. It attaches to the beam with two large cable clips that are supplied with it.
The double basket is suspended between two beams, using the small cable clips. This is used in a back-to-back configuration.
Sense has a high-capacity umbilical riser which attaches to the frame.
To illuminate the work area, a task light can be clamped onto the tool bar.
Power and data blocks are available in various options and are delivered pre-assembled. Depending on the application, these can be fitted onto a tool bar, frame or wire management basket. Configured with four access ports, the module can be specified as four power, two data/two power or four data, or a combination of the two. The result is a flexible solution to hard-wire requirements that means you only pay for what you need.

Colours and finishes
The colour palette uses a standard, high-demand palette as well as more modern, contemporary colours to suit a broad range of tastes and to allow broad applications. the screen fabric is unique to Herman Miller and provides a cool, modern aesthetic with tactile and acoustic benefits.

Technical information

Worksurfaces
Worksurfaces are 25mm MFC (Melamine faced chipboard) with melamine production-fused to both sides of the core. A 2mm ABS edgeband is applied all round using hot melt adhesive, and then machined all round to a EN527 approved radius. Or Worksurfaces are a 0.6mm veneer lay-on and paper backer, applied with water-based PVA adhesive and 3mm veneer-faced re-cut wood edgeband, finished with a tint and lacquer, and then machined all round to a EN5237 approved radius.

Frames
Worksurfaces are supported by Sense’s mono-beam structure. The monobeam is pre-defined in size, with resulting leg plugs fixed, ready for accepting worksurfaces at installation. The mono-beam is re-used across the toolbar, increasing economies of scale. Screens are in turn supported by the beam.
The beams are 2.0mm roll formed steel, which are laser welded to form the frame which can be painted metallic silver, chalk white or thorium grey.

Legs
The legs can be specified as either fixed height or height adjustable and can also be specified with either a straight or angled leg at the user side of the table.
The legs are a composition of aluminium castings, steel and plastic components.
The legs can be specified in a choice of four finishes.

Height adjustability
Sense tables may be specified with height adjustable legs that afford an adjustment range from 620 – 800mm.

Warranty
Herman Miller warrants Sense to be free of defects in material and workmanship for 12 years - regardless of the number of shifts during which the products are used.
