AAC 18
Offering a slightly more formal flavour than the rest of the series, About A Chair AAC18 features slim, elegant legs and armrests that frame the seat shell. The chair’s upright, slightly rounded seat offers excellent comfort, while the open front conveys a welcoming expression. Its refined silhouette makes it a perfect conference chair but is also suitable for dining tables or home offices. The legs are available in chrome and powder coated finishes, while the shell comes in diverse colour and upholstery options, allowing a multitude of design combinations that make this series so versatile.

Shell/ Injection moulded solid-coloured polypropylene shell without armrest. Shell thickness 10 mm
Base/ 4 leg base in 16 mm bent steel tube with integrated armrests. Included armpads in PU foam black. Stackable

OPTIONS
/ Seat Pad in black leather with an anti-slip backside/ Front upholstery 10 mm foam/ Seat upholstery 10 mm foam/ Linking device (Powdercoated steel bracket or plastic linking device in black). The chair is premounted with linking device. The linking device can only be retrofittted on new AAC frames/ Stacking mat (PU foam black). The stacking mat is used as a protection foam for the shell during transport and is recommended to use when stacking 2 or more chairs on top of each other/ CMHR foam (fire retardant)

Concept

The About a Chair collection is the result of a long-term collaboration between HAY and designer Hee Welling. From the outset, the goal was to create a connected family of chairs based around one simple, strong idea, which still retained the individual qualities of each model. By making the frames, shells and upholstery options interchangeable, the About series provides a wealth of design possibilities as well as retaining the elemental form. This multi-functional series includes dining and conference chairs, office chairs, bar stools, lounge chairs, tables, an ottoman and a sofa. Its versatility and contemporary expression make it suitable for a wide variety of private or public environments.
