Wang Yuanqi, artist name Maojing, friendship name Lutai was a Chinese painter of the Qing Dynasty. In 1705, as an official recognition of his artistic work, he was commissioned by the Kangxi Emperor, together with four other persons, to carry out a comprehensive study of painting and calligraphy. The grandson of the famous painter Wang Shimin received a scholarly education. Together with Wang Shimin, the painters Wang Jian and Wang Hui, he is one of the "Four Wang" of the Qing period.
