Eyes Lounge Bench

The sculptural qualities from the characteristic Eyes collection transcends beautifully into the new Eyes Lounge Bench. The Eyes shells float effortlessly on top of the steel frame of the bench and is an elegant addition to lounge areas and waiting rooms.

Eyes Lounge Bench is designed by the Danish design duo Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen who, with the introduction of the new bench, have yet again extended the Eyes collection.

‘Our design is driven by usability, respect for materials and the love of form. We wish to economize on resources in our use of materials and by making products that have a long life-span, in both a visual and a physical sense’, says Johannes Foersom.

The bench is available either on legs or with legs that you mount to the underlying foundation. Both options can be made with up to five seats. The various arrangements allow for many seats at once without taking up a lot of space in a given room.

‘Eyes Lounge Bench unites homey lounge comfort with the more rational need for exploiting a space in the best possible way’, explains Foersom.

Respect for Materials

The design duo Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen always demonstrate a high level of respect for the materials they use in their designs. This design philosophy has been carried on into the development of Eyes Lounge Bench. The use of materials, especially for the frame of the bench, is minimal as the arrangement with numerous seats side by side are all mounted on to the same frame.

‘Based on the Eyes Lounge seat we have made a bench with numerous seats aligned side by side on the same frame. As a result, the arrangement is organized and at the same time minimizes the use of materials for the frame’, says Foersom.

Concept

With its gentle curves and slight angle back, the Eyes Lounge is a visual cue to sit back and stay a while. To relax in a hotel lobby, hold an informal meeting or work on your laptop in your living room.

The simple shape lends itself to the opportunity to customise. Including variants with wooden legs, a swivel base or a 4-leg tube.

Designers Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen see quality and comfort are inseparable. It wouldn’t be a long-lasting design to have one without the other.
