Description: Great design often comes from a sense of place, and this is no exception for Angela Adams, whose work echoes the natural beauty of the Maine coastline, where she grew up and still lives. Walking next to the Atlantic Ocean on her way to and from work, Adams sees old boathouses, freshly painted lobster buoys, piles of multicolored ropes and many other images that inspire her every day. Her palette, she explains, changes hourly, just as the fog and tides ebb and flow. The tight community in which Adams lives also informs her work, like the Acadia Rug (2018), named in honor of Acadia National Park in her home state. Made of UV-stable polypropylene, this rug is soft enough to enjoy indoors but durable enough to stand up to sunlight, stains, moisture and mildew. It’s marked by a minimal two-tone design that’s enhanced by fine handwoven construction. Made it Belgium.
