To articulate the expansion of the software company—reported by The New York Times to be on track toward a billion-dollar valuation — Contentful has enlisted the design firm to develop an all-new interior for their Berlin office.

toi toi toi has translated the brand of the vibrant technology start-up into a minimal interior canvas. The studio has shifted the tone of Contentful’s individual and communal spaces to mirror the company’s agile development approach, through a mélange of polished concrete flooring, plywood millwork and neutral tones.

The former faucet factory, located in Berlin-Kreuzberg, was a beacon of industrial production during the early 1900s. Today, the building reflects the culture of burgeoning technology movements and progressive business environments. Highlighting this change, toi toi toi has shaped Contentful’s new workspaces in a minimal, yet mature way.

Whether it’s the wall-to-wall whiteboards, or the café capable of hosting up to 70 employees, the office is a springboard for ideas. While meeting rooms can still host a dozen people and the phone booths stand ready for private phone-calls, the corridors and corners remain apt and able for a quick brainstorming session or a quiet one-onone.

"Contentful's cafe is the beating heart of our Berlin office. The space encourages casual collaboration without need for a formal meeting, which fits our culture perfectly.” —Markus Harder, CFO, Contentful

Flexibility remains a foundational business characteristic. That’s why toi toi toi creative studio has designed an interior for Contentful that can adapt as quickly as its software.
