The church of St. Anton in Schweinfurt was rethought. In terms of content and architecture. How does one deal appropriately with sacred places that are to be put to a different use? The most fundamental structural changes were the decision to make the church smaller, to move the large window and thus create a new central entrance. Functions were rearranged according to the needs of the users, short distances and easy orientation were created. Today, all visitors enter St. Anton's through a common entrance, via the new centre. This door is open to all, the new centre welcomes: No matter whether one seeks prayer in the church, meets friends in the Café Charisma or needs advice from a specialist service. It is not only the functional centre of the ensemble, but a place of encounter and communication, not stigmatisation. Low-threshold and open to all. The doors to the church are also transparent and wide open. Today, it welcomes visitors and believers warmly and without thresholds, opens its doors wide, arouses curiosity. The transparent entrance portal connects inside and outside, church and new centre. It lets the world into the church and the church into the world.
