Over 30 years ago, Nanna Ditzel created the classic but still contemporary upholstery material, Hallingdal. Until her death in 2005, Nanna Ditzel still had her finger on the pulse and therefore felt the need for a different, bolder upholstery material.
Nanna Ditzel often gains her inspiration from clothes fashion. She got the idea for Gloss from shiny, breathable sportswear made of synthetic materials. It had to be possible to express something similar in the world of upholstery. Using Trevira CS, a flameproof polyester, provided the solution. The result is a modern, high-tech upholstery material in a style that is both industrial and cool. Accordingly, Gloss perfectly matches the contemporary uncluttered, simple and pure lines and convincingly interacts with the mix of steel, glass and wood of modern architecture. In 2003, the original 12 metallic colours in gold, silver, bronze and steel were expanded to include another 16 colours. The spectrum of colour in the palette has become much broader, giving greater scope for interior decor applications.
