The Acorn Collection harks back to a bold period in furniture design. These designs reflect the mid-century modern era, when confidence in proportion, modesty in detail and simplicity of construction were the defining characteristics. Offering a fresh take on bespoke, British-made furniture, this first collection consisted initially of six key pieces – the Lounge Chair, Dining Chair, Sofa, Dining Table, Side Table and Coffee Table. We then added two further pieces to the collection - Sideboard and Chest of Drawers. By adding two beautiful storage pieces to our range of seating and tables, we were able to complete the circle of furniture for modern living.

All bark furniture is made by hand and to order in the UK and comes in a range of hardwoods and fabrics.
All the wood used in our furniture comes from sustainable sources and is FSC or PESC certified.

Bark Furniture launches new additions to the Acorn collection. If there’s one thing Bark love, it’s coming up with a fresh take on a style of furniture; one that makes people smile. And so they are delighted to announce the launch of their new Acorn One-Seater and Two-Seater chairs.
Jonathan Walter and Lakshmi Bhaskaran run Bark from their workshop in Cornwall creating furniture that harks back to a bold period in furniture design and is inspired by the mid-Century modern era. While the Acorn range itself has clear 20th Century influences, it feels modern, unpretentious, inviting and above all, fun. The resulting designs are neatly infused with a sense of history while still remaining firmly in the present.

The upholstered seats are constructed from solid FSC Certified beech, while the chair frames are made from beautifully shaped, solid FSC black walnut. The chairs are traditionally upholstered, and deeply quilted, making them amazingly comfortable and supportive.
