There’s something paradoxical about bathroom fittings: they’re expected to ensure simple but precise regulation of water quantity and temperature, while also meeting our exacting aesthetic standards – from timelessly discreet to extravagant and eye-catching. New approaches rarely emerge that go beyond form. Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby decided it was time to change this when they focused on interactivity for AXOR. Launched in 2015, their AXOR One shower thermostat module is now being supplemented with mixers, showers and water inlets for bathtubs.

Even if the control panel – with rounded corners and intuitive operation, courtesy of its rotary dial and large push buttons – can be easily combined with other AXOR collections, the newly introduced product family presents a holistic overall concept of visual purity.

The AXOR One control element is now joined by matching hand showers and overhead showers for flush-mounted installation on walls and ceilings, along with the so-called showerpipe as a combined overhead and hand shower. A characteristic detail of the shower are the water outlets arranged in five circles. The Rain and PowderRain spray modes ensure a relaxing shower experience.

Barber and Osgerby also know how to achieve perfection when it comes to washbasin fittings. The two London designers reduced the archetypal appearance of an arched washbasin spout to an extremely slim silhouette, paired with an equally slender operating handle. Pressing down on the controller starts and stops the flow of water, while turning the handle clockwise towards the front increases the water temperature. In addition to this monolithic variant and a concealed basin mixer, the line also includes two- and three-hole basin mixers as well as basin mixers with a classic lever handle.
