ARK-house is a Finnish architectural firm founded in 1995 when three smaller architectural offices merged in order to implement few large scale building projects. The partners of ARK-house have, however, worked together before that e.g. for competition projects. Since 1995 ARK-house has completed a series of public buildings and residential projects, most of them in Helsinki. Among them are educational buildings and libraries for the City of Helsinki and the University of Helsinki. ARK-house has also successfully taken part in architectural competitions in Finland. During 1980 –2010. The partners of ARK-house have alone or together achieved over twenty 1st prizes and tens of other prizes in national and international architectural competitions. ARK-house has been awarded for example for the the State Award, Steel Construction of the Year, SIO-prize for the best interior of the Year, Facade-Prize of the year, Helsinki City-Prize etc.
The main planning projects today are public buildings, housing and office projects, mostly in Helsinki area but also abroad.
At the moment 12 architects and architectural students are working in the office. The Partners are strongly involved in all the projects and are in charge during the whole process from design to implemention phase.
