The seat and backrest consist of two blocks of moulded polyurethane foam which have an internal metal structure. The upholstery is fully integrated in the foam by means of the Integral Form system, without seams or stitching. This system guarantees accurate replacements if they are needed.
A TS System fire barrier can be incorporated between the foam and the upholstery in both the seat and backrest, preventing fire from reaching the foam and delaying the spreading of flames and emission of toxic gases.
The backrest padding is anatomically contoured with lumbar support and a headrest incorporating vertical and horizontal fluting in the headrest. The seat padding is also anatomically shaped, but is completely plain, without any channels or fluting, to keep out the dirt. Both the seat and backrest are protected by fully washable material covers, protecting the rear upholstery.
The seat tips up automatically due to an extremely quiet double spring system inside the seat shell (tested to 500,000 cycles) that requires no lubrication of any kind.
The seat is mounted on two metal pedestals incorporating a ball-and-socket joint system - including a locking mechanism - into which the seat pin fits. This enables the seat to be easily replaced without dismantling the whole structure. The pedestals are made of a tubular steel structure finished in powder paint.
The seat is fixed to the floor by means of expansion plugs, and adapts to the specific slope of the hall at its base. Rows are formed by interconnected backrests allowing fully rigid and stable row formation, reinforcing the attachment to the floor.
The armrests are made of polyurethane foam with an internal metal structure. The ends of the row are upholstered. The seat has rear perforations which provide adequate acoustic absorption when the seat is tipped up and out of use. The top rear part of the backrest can incorporate an upholstered headrest extension. Both the seat and backrest can be fully upholstered, without losing any acoustic properties.
