Concept

Wick is an ergonomic allround chair with several different options to customise it for home, offices, conference centers and hotels. Designers Jesper Ståhl and Karl Malmvall was inspired by old-fashioned wood-chip baskets, combining a very economic use of material with the plaiting technique that provides a steady construction and makes it possible to shape the wood in a basket-like form. A tribute to the tradition of Scandinavian wood furniture.

Wick is made in Småland, Sweden; and is designed for both private homes and to meet the requirements for use in the public sector.

Unlike most other modular shell chairs, Wick chair is made of wood. Whether it is solid or laminated as in the slender back to the Wick chair, wood is more pleasant than plastic which is often experienced as either too cold or too hot. The wood also makes the backrest a little flexible — a desirable feature when spending several hours sitting in a chair. A specially designed seat cushion can be attached to the seat with a pair of snap fasteners. And the design of the backrest makes it possible to hang Wick chair on the edge of the table while cleaning the floors.

The chair with solid wooden legs is perfect for the dining table, the tubular steel legs makes the chair light and stackable up to 5 chairs for use in conference rooms, and the swivel chair is perfect for the office.
