Ann Idstein has a long tradition of manufacturing Venetian Blinds, dating back to the mid 1950’s. Also, Ann Idstein was one of the first companies to manufacture and sell wooden Venetian Blinds in Europe. Knowledge has been accumulated over more than half a century, making Ann Idstein one of the leading manufacturers of wooden blinds today.
The Venetian Blind relies on the stacking principle. Horizontal slats of various materials are suspended from textile “ladder tapes”. Various control types can be used but the function is rather similar; the slats are stacked as the blind is pulled up and they slide apart when the blind is released back down. The main types of controlling the blinds are cord control or motorization, as well as chain command for certain models.
Another key element of a Venetian Blind is the tape which holds the slats, generally referred to as ladder tapes. Ann Idstein offers a wide variety of colours and ladder tape widths. A narrow ladder in a colour matching the slats makes the slats appear as if the float in the air whereas a wide tape in contrasting colour accentuates the vertical line and draws attention to the colours of the tapes, which might interplay with other elements within a room.
