Sharky Alu chair

Chairs from Kristalia, Designed by Neuland Paster & Geldmacher

Product description

The polyurethane structure of the chair gives it a light dynamic line. Its matt lacquered aluminium legs, with visible welding, highlight its material quality and sturdiness; design features that are typical of “made in Italy” workmanship. The chair comes in various colour options for the structure and the frame. The range of colours for the chair includes the most classic white, black and beige, as well as terracotta, brown, olive green and light blue.
The chair is also available with fabric upholstery. This comfortable and ergonomic chair is ideal for both the home and furnishing environments such as hotels and restaurants.

Concept

Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher, also known as Neuland Industriedesign, were not satisfied with having won the InteriorInnovation Award 2015, a prestigious prize awarded by the German Design Council, for their Sharky chair. They went back to theirstudio and immediately thought about how to extend their collection.
And here is the result: two stools in two heights with seats in different shapes.
The two sinuous stools, which, despite their predominantly narrow lines, are an extremely durable product.
The high stool entirely replicates the seat of the chair and becomes a comfortable bar stool, whereas the low stool has a differentseat, shortened for a more harmonious overall effect.
The two fin-shaped coupling elements between the frame and the base clearly remain on the rear part; a technical detail that is thekey characteristic of the project.
These two versatile stools can be used in the home or as a distinguishing feature of a project at a restaurant, bar or hotel.
The designer’s idea is to develop a modern and contemporary design, where technology blends with constant contact with natureand its materials.
They are two unique projects, which also focus on easy maintenance and cleaning.

Three years after designing the best-selling chair for Kristalia called Elephant, the designer duo Neuland has created a new animal: Sharky. The name comes from the two “fins” at the rear of the chair, the coupling between the frame and the base.
