With the new Mirage table collection designed by Matteo Ragni, Tonelli design creates the perfect combination of two apparently distant materials: glass and wood. The alternation between transparent glass and wood creates an optical illusion that improves the interaction with the glass table whilst enhancing its aesthetics. The elegant austerity of glass and the cosy warmth of wood are combined through a new technology based on the use of compounds and adhesives to “veneer glass”. The collection consists of two low tables with a rectangular and square top, a night table, and a console, which you can customise choosing from eleven Alpi wood finishes.
“Veneering glass is, first of all, a challenge and a dream to be realised. The idea is to combine two ancient materials that are the opposite of one another; one is cold and the other is warm, one is smooth and perfect and the other is rough and perfect in its imperfection. All this has led to the creation of furniture that is surprising in many ways, which, thanks to mirror-like surfaces, creates optical effects with a continuous play of reflections and lights” Matteo Ragni
