A prototype of the Max chair was already shown earlier and now Max is ready for production. A mould was initially prepared to be able to design the seat and back section and the chair was also subject to various resilience and manageability tests. Contrary to the more pronounced designs of his Marylin chair, Kai Stania wanted to design a chair that – at first sight – has a more classic but especially an extremely refined shape. The chair can therefore easily fit into various areas. The Max can also change its look totally, just by changing the colour options of wooden legs and upholstery. One of the biggest plus points of the Max chair is its exceptional comfort. This is not only due to its moulded foam shape, but specifically by the backrest which is equipped with a specially supplied mechanism. This ensures that you are perfectly supported while being able to lean back comfortably at the same time. So you certainly don’t sit against a plank but lean back pleasantly against a moveable backrest. The delicate seams and subtle positioning only emphasizes the skill and the sense of elegance of the design. The legs are made of solid oak and can be stained in various tinges. There will also follow a version of the chair with a metal base, for more project related applications.
