Two weeks ago 'Betonwerk Rieder' celebrated its fifty years of existence as a company with an out-of-the-ordinary party in the Maishofen auction hall. 'RollingStone', a musical, theatrical and culinary journey through time, took the guests on a tour through half a century of history, covering both the company and the industry.

Hans Rieder, the founder of the company, took on the management of the precast concrete works at the age of 19 and over the following 50 years he built it up to a company with a workforce of 330. Since 2004 his son Wolfgang has managed the Rieder group. Thanks to practice-related research and constant innovation in the areas of sound insulation, road safety and architectural concrete, the family-owned company is firmly anchored among Europe's top companies in the field. Its range covers products for road and railway construction as well as precast sections, traffic safety facilities, large-size concrete slabs and fibreC fibre-glass concrete for facade sections.

»Rieder is an outstanding demonstration that family companies with a regional base don't simply relocate to somewhere else at the first sign of economic difficulties«, stressed business minister and deputy state governor Wilfried Haslauer on the occasion of the celebration.

Among the 800 guests were Maishofen's mayor Franz Eder, state governor Gabi Burgstaller, Christine and Hans Rieder, deputy state governor Dr. Wilfried Haslauer and Erika Bichler, deputy mayor of Maishofen.
