With its fine details and unmistakable design, the Hästens 2000T is one of the manufacturer’s most exclusive models. The special multi-layer system consists of horsehair, fine cotton and wool. The natural layers move independently of each other, which ensures a very comfortable lying position. The model, which is completely handcrafted and equipped with a double pocket-spring system, offers hotel-guests maximum sleeping pleasure.

For the first time in the company’s 165-year history, Hästens has now reinterpreted its iconic blue-and-white check design. The design studio Bernadotte & Kylberg designed two continental beds based on the 2000T model. In the case of Appaloosa, the designers were inspired by Cubism. With an ingenious interweaving of dark-blue and white, the pattern appears vivid and fluid. Clearly recognisable as a Hästens design, it simultaneously radiates an innovative, fresh look. The model is named after the American breeding horses of the same name with their different-colour pied coats. Hästens has developed a special weaving technique for this bed with its matching headboard using a double-layer fabric in dark-blue, light-blue and white. The Marwari model in warm, iridescent dark brown is a tribute to the company’s origins. A special fabric was also created for this detailed pattern using a similar process to the production of a saddle girth, with the elaborately-braided natural fibres serving as a reference to the company’s roots as a master saddler. The bed and matching headboard are trimmed with a dark-brown leather border, and the mattress and handles are also trimmed with leather piping. The colour of the leather was achieved using vegetable tanning agents – a natural process used for thousands of years. The name of the model stands for a rare, majestic breed of breeding horse from India’s Marwar region.

The Swedish design agency Bernadotte & Kylberg is a globally operating studio for graphic, product and industrial design with a great passion for Swedish design. In its work it seeks to create inspiring, iconic and durable designs with high user benefits, resulting in products that combine functionality, innovation and aesthetics in a timeless design language.
