We spend a third of our lives asleep. That’s why, besides being essential for our wellbeing and ability to function in everyday life, restful sleep is also key to a healthy life in general. This awareness is also very much in evidence among the general public. “In Switzerland, customers have become much more sensitive when it comes to sleep,” confirms Peter Patrik Roth, managing director and owner of Roviva. “They want the best.” And in this family-run business, only the best is good enough. Founded in 1748, the old-established company has a wealth of experience to draw on. Values like tradition, innovation and sustainability play a central role. And although much has changed over the years, Roviva has stayed true to its core competencies. Its product philosophy has always been based on five pillars that consider sleep in its entirety: Hygiene Concept, Climate Balance, Ergonomic Expertise, Comfort & Enjoyment and Nature Experience.

Tradition and innovation go hand in hand at Roviva, as demonstrated by products likes its highly efficient mattress fabric Silverskin, which has silver threads sewn into it to combat mites and bacteria. And when it comes to padding the mattresses, the focus is still very much on natural products like silk, camel hair and virgin wool. The latter has been sourced entirely from Switzerland for two years now. One hundred percent natural latex mattresses are also popular and are produced by harvesting latex from a rubber tree and pouring it into a mould. This material adapts to the body, treating users to a sleeping experience that feels like being bedded on clouds. In addition, the open-pore finish ensures good air circulation and thus an ideal sleeping climate.

Roviva’s latest product is further evidence of its commitment to nature: aura is a modern bed frame made of solid Swiss wood and produced in Muotathal. Designed by Sandro Halter and exquisitely crafted, aura owes its light appearance to its slender, facetted legs. There are six types of select natural wood and two heights to choose from, allowing customers to create the individual bed of their dreams to suit their personal needs.

ROVIVA: After more than 250 years in the business, the family-run company has a wealth of experience to draw on. Founded in 1748, Roviva started out as a horsehair mill and is now one of the oldest family businesses in the world. Peter Patrik Roth has been running the company since 2001 – the ninth generation of his family to do so. Roviva’s latest coup goes by the name of aura, a natural wood bed that provides an ideal frame for Roviva’s premium mattresses.
