Organic forms on a cubic foundation are the latest additions to Hamburg’s city centre. The new office building attracts attention through “big eyes” looking onto the Alster. J. Mayer H. Architekten have designed an elegant complex with 6,600 square metres of space on six floors. Its striking look is achieved by means of the surprising façade: glass eyes protrude between horizontal window strips to form a three-dimensional reticulated structure. The interior is notable for its transparency, clarity and colour harmony. A large two-level lobby welcomes visitors to the KNSK advertising agency. The concrete structure is widely spaced, giving flexibility in the interior floor plan to allow conference rooms, open-plan offices and individual cells. White walls keep the focus on what is most essential, while minimalist white and grey furniture encourage creative thinking. Eco 1 by Carpet Concept harmonizes well with the minimalist interior. The high-quality woven carpet was used in the offices and in parts of the corridor in three different colour shades from bright grey to light beige.
