Walvis

WALVIS is a café interior we designed in strong collaboration with the owners and as a sequel to their first cafe, Vitrin. Throughout the design there are formal references to the first café, although there is a shift in materials. The countertop as well as the benches are reissues, this time in lacquered wood and marble. As the property is on a wedge-shaped corner, we took advantage of the windows on both sides, along the complete depth of the building. The bar itself is placed at the center with the adjacent kitchen. The exercise consisted of strengthening the existing strongpoints of the building and discarding everything else.
