More efficient management and simplified relocations
The Insel Group's new office concept aimed to define operational principles and standards for office use across the entire Insel Group. This was intended to make office space management more efficient and simplify relocations. The new "Anna Seiler House" building is already the second project to implement the new office concept.
Many years ago, the Insel Group, together with Lista Office LO, defined a standard for workspaces. "Uniform furniture facilitates the management of office space and, above all, supports relocations – only people need to be relocated, not the furniture," explains Markus Wasmer, sub-project manager of the new "Anna Seiler House" project. The new main building of Inselspital Bern, opening in September 2023, effectively applies the standard for workspaces for the second time.
The workspaces consist of ergonomic sit-stand desks and individually adjustable workstations. Office swivel chairs and acoustic partitions. Support spaces such as meeting rooms, telephone booths, and dictation booths complement the workspaces.
"When it comes to workspace types, we differentiate between 'personal,' on the one hand, and 'flexible,' or 'impersonal,' on the other," says Markus Wasmer, describing the dynamic concept. "Employees should feel comfortable in the space where they spend several hours every day." The Insel Group has refrained from providing personalized storage space – with the exception of lockers – and is increasingly focusing on digital filing.
In the meeting areas, wooden walls, colorful furniture, and colorful chair cushions add fresh accents. Overall, these areas are designed with high quality and promote a sense of well-being, notes Markus Wasmer.
The Insel Group and Lista Office LO enjoy a long-standing partnership. "The rapid order processing, from quote to invoicing, as well as the competent advice, were very valuable to us," emphasizes Markus Wasmer.
The Insel Group implemented not only the office but also the cloakroom concept for employees in the medical departments together with Lista Office LO: Long rows of lockers and wardrobe cabinets offer generous storage space.
While the offices are furnished practically and visually unobtrusively according to a standardized concept, the meeting areas are partly decorated in wood and feature colorful accents. This lends a cozy atmosphere to the moments spent meeting. The cloakrooms, with their numerous lockers and Wardrobes are functionally furnished and also play with elegant color accents.
