Creating Textile Values
rohi is a family company and quality leader in the upholstery textile sector, with products made exclusively in Germany. The name rohi is an abbreviation of Rolf Hielle, the textile engineer who founded the company in 1933 with his wife, designer Marga Hielle-Vatter. But what does this brand represent?
We can honestly say: “Everything we do sits just right.” Our over 80 year-long success story as a family company specialising in seat cover fabrics gives us a significant advantage.
This wealth of experience from three generations creates additional synergy effects within our three divisions AIR, LIVING and PUBLIC. We have transferred our expertise in creating an atmosphere of well-being from the furniture sector to aircraft cabins, building a clear unique selling point. Conversely, we also bene t from our technical textile expertise from the aircraft industry. We use it in particular for the PUBLIC division, where exceptionally high quality requirements apply for public spaces.



Another characteristic of the rohi brand is its focus on our favourite material wool. It is the only material that allows us to showcase the best and most unique properties the natural material has to offer through many nishing techniques, some of our own creation. “For us, wool is high-tech from nature.”
rohi was one of the first textile manufacturers approved as a vendor for AIRBUS and BOEING. We established an in-house test laboratory at a very early stage, and it is still exceeding the standard measurement parameters. In 2003, our quality management system was certified to EN (AS) 9100. We were the first company in the textile industry worldwide to do so.
We reliably fulfil our promise “whatever it is, we translate it into textile” again and again. This has allowed us to establish ourselves on the market with creativity and originality. Annual design studies and the “bespoke woven” customer-specific projects delivered via “smart customising” are proof of this.
rohi’s heart beats in an idyllic landscape in the Alpine foothills, surrounded by nature. This creative spot is home to people who have dedicated their lives to top quality textile design and textile production.
rohi launched the 13RUGS by rohi label in 2016. Upcycling the selvages produced in rohi’s fabric production to new textile works of art for oors reveals a strong commitment to sustainability.

We only cooperate with long-standing expert partners in Germany.
