Giovanni Manna is an Italian illustrator, born in Florence, master in watercolor technique.
Since 1995 he has published over one hundred titles for numerous publishers, including The Creative Company (USA), Barefoot Books (UK), Bohem Press (Zurich), Grimm Press (Taipei), Editions Notari (Geneve) and, in Italy, Rizzoli, Mondadori, Salani, Piemme, Edizioni San Paolo: his original books have been translated into several languages.
His illustrations were exhibited at numerous exhibitions including the Bratislava Biennale, the Children's Museum of Manhattan in New York, “ The Italy picture book ”in Osaka and Tokyo, the Sarmede International Illustration Exhibition, the "Tales for the telling ” in Newcastle upon Tyne. In 2012 he was selected by the American Junior Library Guild List. In 2003 he received the Italian Andersen Award as the best illustrator of the year.
He is also teacher at the Sarmede International School of Illustration and at the Libera Accademia d’Arte Novalia in Alba (CN).
