In the year of its 70th anniversary, Minotti presented an outstanding new collection at the Salone del Mobile.Milano that encapsulated its infinite commitment to quality and creativity. The collection represents the latest evolution of Minotti’s open and universal design strategy, with contributions from a cadre of international designers. The products developed by Rodolfo Dordoni – also coordinator of the whole collection – Nendo, Marcio Kogan, Christophe Delcourt each interpreted Minotti’s core philosophy in a different way, and together created a unified vision with an international outlook.

Minotti’s presentation at the 2018 Salone del Mobile.Milano was defined by a modern, bright and graphic aesthetic. Influences from Japan and Scandinavia combined with more decorative and rationalist architectural elements to create a scenography with a pared-back yet comfortable and refined feel.

A paved entrance courtyard provided the setting for Marcio Kogan’s modular outdoor furniture system influenced by his architectural philosophy to deal with volumes. An interior path continued through lounge-like spaces exhibiting versatile new pieces by Nendo and Christophe Delcourt to represent the company in its attitude to hospitality offering. A dramatic staircase ascended to a mezzanine level and provided a theatrical focal point at the centre of a grand living area displaying new pieces by Dordoni, Delcourt and Nendo. The suspended fireplace at the centre of the room faithfully reproduces, in an oversized scale, the one designed in 1960 by architect Gigi Radice for the residence of the company’s founder, Alberto Minotti and his family.

The various rooms covered a floor area of 2,000-square-metres at the Rho Fiera exhibition venue, and provided one of the highlights of the 2018 edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano. For designers and architects visiting the fair, it was a reminder that Minotti is continuing with its never-ending effort to produce some of the world’s finest furniture.
