Concept
L'ingénieur et designer Alberto Meda a créé un système de chaises pour salles d'attente, baptisé Meda Gate. Son objectif était de mettre l'accent tant sur le niveau de confort que sur la facilité de maintenance. Parallèlement, il souhaitait façonner un système au style épuré et minimaliste, offrant la légèreté et l'extrême élégance qui sont maintenant devenues sa marque de fabrique. La sophistication technique du Meda Gate ne saute pas immédiatement aux yeux. Facile à assembler, le système affiche également une excellente durabilité.
Un niveau de confort supérieur
La conception innovante du système, avec ses sièges en porte-à-faux, offre aux utilisateurs un niveau de confort supérieur et ce, même lorsqu'il leur est demandé de patienter pendant un long moment.
Une ligne élégante
La forme subtile du Meda Gate lui confère légèreté et élégance. Recourir à une garniture haute qualité en cuir contribuera à souligner encore davantage la ligne élégante du système.
La facilité de maintenance
Les sièges individuels ne nécessitant que deux vis pour être fixés aux traverses, ils peuvent être remplacés facilement et rapidement en cas de besoin.
Une excellente durabilité
Aussi bien les matériaux utilisés – les coques des sièges sont réalisées en mousse dure de polyuréthane – que la conception du Meda Gate sont extrêmement robustes et stables, ce qui veut dire que le système peut résister aux contraintes d'usure auxquelles il est soumis dans les salles d'attente publiques.
Une large gamme d'utilisations
Le Meda Gate convient parfaitement à tous les types de salles d'attente publiques telles que celles des aéroports, gares ferroviaires, hôpitaux et galeries marchandes, de même qu'aux salles d'attente des cabinets médicaux et autres espaces similaires.

From 1973 technical manager of Kartell, in charge of the development of projects of furniture and plastic laboratory equipments. In 2005 Hon Royal Designer for Industry RSA London. Several exibitions, among others at "Triennale di Milano", "Design Gallery" in Tokyo, at Binnen Amsterdam and in Paris during Salon du Meuble. Since 1994 MoMA NY includes in its permanent collection: "Light light" chair, "Soft light" chair, "Longframe" by Alias and "On-Off" lamp by Luceplan. He works and lives in Milan.
