Every business has a unique working culture, and therefore needs a workspace that reflects its values and identity. The new Space storage system from Kinnarps is an intelligent modular solution for creating customised office interiors that respond to the specific demands of different users. The design provides limitless opportunities for configuration and promotes Kinnarps’ concept of activity-based environments that facilitate movement and communication.

“The aim of Space is to create a universal system suitable for many different needs,” says its designer, Stefan Brodbeck. “A flexible and modular solution with customisation options. A device with exciting features and choices to create functional, but also emotional and inspiring places.”

The Space system comprises a range of tabletops and storage units available in hundreds of colours that can be linked by a powerbox containing essential cabling and sockets. The units form a spine incorporating shelves or dividers to partition the space if needed, as well as seat cushions to encourage informal discussion between colleagues.

Space is also designed to work in combination with Kinnarps’ Oberon series, which makes it easy to introduce different tabletops and underframes to match the aesthetic and functional requirements of the office. Kinnarps’ Colour Studio already offers hundreds of material finishes and colours for the fronts, handles, legs, cushions and dividers, with a new range of colours set to launch in February 2019. The extensive customisation options mean it is even possible to specify each leg in a different colour, resulting in bespoke workstations that are as unique as the people using them.
