The 80 metre high Franklin Tower was built on the site of the new Zurich Oerlikon railway station. Together with the Andreasturm, it characterises the skyline of this booming district. The Franklin Tower offers a total of 14,800 square metres of space for offices and commercial premises in the fields of education, healthcare and IT services.
The interior design concept of the offices combines timeless elegance with modern comfort and relies on a harmonious selection of materials that emphasises wood, metal and glass.
The corridor walls, which are designed with floor-to-ceiling glass elements, create a light-flooded atmosphere and make the surroundings shine. The doors to the individual offices are made of smoked German oak and lend the rooms an elegant appearance thanks to their warm colour.
High-quality curtain systems from MHZ were integrated to provide privacy from the outside and, depending on the situation, also from the inside. The louvre curtains along the glass façade not only provide privacy, but also deflect light to prevent glare. The selected SKY fabric quality is translucent but not transparent and also helps to optimise the acoustics of the room. It is conveniently operated by cord/chain.
In selected areas, high-quality, black and white lacquered aluminium curtain tracks model 1680 and curtains in ERSA quality, made up with a round pleat in a warm sand tone, were used to further enhance the cosy lounge feeling and enhance the spatial effect. On two floors, 13 curtain tracks, 21 ERSA quality curtains and 57 SKY quality slat systems with 89 mm slats were installed.
Overall, the office exudes a classic Italian design effect that conveys both timeless elegance and brightness through the combination of warm colours and materials as well as generous glass surfaces. The chosen interior design concept creates inspiring and functional workplaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, thus creating living spaces for working.
