The creation of Triode in 2004 represents for Jacques Barret the accomplishment of an unusual career, in which creation, more specifically furniture, is an essential aspect. From the exploration of attic rooms looking for hypothetical treasuries to his landscape architect formation, curiosity has always been Jacque’s drive. After his studies, he discovered the world of design when he opened a stand specialized in pieces from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s at Saint-Ouen’s flea market. As a landscape architect, he directed two agencies in Paris and Lyon working with the most famous architects. Triode is an opportunity for him to use all the experience he has acquired to turn the showroom of Saint Germain des Pres into a place with a unique setting. By focusing on the edition of lights, he gives the brand a more visible aspect while still welcoming in the showroom all sorts of creation.
Since 2007, Triode is specialized in the edition of lighting by offering unique product lines that are finding a strategic place in a universe that tends to standardize. Codes that govern international design make commonplace the creative landscape by offering the same products around the world. Triode's ambition is to highlight rising talents to inscribe them in the history of design between mass production and limited editions.
