Company profile

We are the makers of long-living furniture designed by Dieter Rams since 1959. Our purpose is to allow more people to live better, with less, that lasts longer. Our discreet and adaptable products last for generations. We have consistently stood up to a world that has favoured new over better. We encourage customers to start with a small amount and add to it as their lives develop, supported all the way by our very best customer service.

Company history

Vitsœ was the name of the company’s founder, Niels Vitsœ. Together with Otto Zapf he established Vitsœ in 1959 to realise the furniture designs of Dieter Rams. Since 1995 the company’s worldwide headquarters and production have been based in the United Kingdom.

Designer - Dieter Rams

Born in 1932, Dieter Rams is one of the foremost industrial designers of the 20th century. For his entire career Rams has worked almost exclusively for two companies: Braun, the German electrical products company and, to this day, Vitsœ. Today he is cited by a new generation of designers as a key influence on their work that is shaping the 21st century.

Shops

Vitsœ shops can be found in London, England; Royal Leamington Spa, England; Munich, Germany; New York, United States; Los Angeles, United States.

Company HQ

Like its Dieter Rams-designed furniture, Vitsœ’s production-building and HQ in Royal Leamington Spa, England was conceived as a universal system – a kit of parts – to adapt and evolve continuously in response to the changing needs of its occupiers. These commitments are fullfilled through a combination of the building’s flexibility, its natural materials, natural light and natural ventilation.
