As a spin-off from the Lighting Technology Institute of KIT, the scientific consideration of light and its effects is the base for the development. Its combination with design aspects, special materials and powerful technology produces luminaires with an extraordinary product experience.

On the site of the "Old slaughterhouse" in Karlsruhe (Germany) where creative companies of various branches are situated in historic, refurbished buildings from the early 20th century, a team with passion for light is working on the products of vanory. The office is in the former horse house, while a studio has been set up for production in the neighboring former hypermarket.

vanory is derived from a welsh name and means “white wave”. It stand for the changeability of the light of the vanory luminaires: from time to time calm and relaxed, sometimes vibrant and wild – but usually in the most beautiful shades of white.
