Simple elegance, easy to build – Steckwerk offers youthful furniture design and individual charm. Founded by Lukas Hechinger in Karlsruhe the modular shelving system provides unique pieces of furniture for home and office. Lukas early began to look over his father’s shoulder in the family owned carpenter’s workshop and built up a consolidated knowledge about wood and its handling. As a student of mechanical engineering he soon was able to run his father’s machinery which enabled him to start a small business on his own. The idea was to design a board in a way such that together with other identical boards it can be assembled to a shelf, not using any extra parts like screws or dowels. In the meantime the patent for this unique connection assembly is pending and it is obvious that the array of products will further grow in the near future. The easy to use technique will soon be used for a whole series of furniture – unique modular shelving systems, flexible tables or even creative ideas for fresh wall coverings. Steckwerk develops and produces in Germany, setting absolute value on fitting accuracy and manufacturing quality.
