There are already many, many stripes in the market, and anyway we have decided to
develop another one - Snorre! With an individual approach with fine stripes combined in
an irregular pattern, we have created a very special stripe design. The stripes’ irregularity
makes the fabric more interesting, as it is a skilful art to find the right rhythm of the
various stripes. The next challenge is to combine the different colours of the stripes, to
create combinations which are working together, but also are having a surprising

Snorre is a smooth and elegant quality woven in 92% worsted wool and 8%
polyamide. It is as a warp stripe, which means that the threads in the warp are made by all
the colours used of the stripe pattern, both more difficult in the production and much
more time consuming. But the result is an excellent quality where the colour of the stripes
is coming out in the best way. By using a satin binding and a special finish procedure the
fabric has got a special soft touch. The colour palette of Snorre is striking – fancy grass
green and fuchsia, elegant aubergine and ocker or maybe sophisticated linen and black.

It is always interesting to combine a stripe with a plain fabric. We have chosen to have
Vidar as the perfect colour match – all colours in the different stripes of Snorre are to be
found in this fabric. It is interesting is to combine the smooth satin woven stripe with the
tactile and more structured boucle. The stretch fabrics Njord and Mimer are also good
combinations or why not the elegant Håkon? The beautiful features of Snorre are
enhanced when combined with one of the mohair fabrics, like Miming, Idun, Modi or

Snorre – with the family name Sturlasson - is an Icelandic author from the thirteenth
century (at the end of the Viking period) who recorded some of the myths from the
Nordic mythology.
