Product description
Designed in 1959, by Fridtjof F. Schliephacke, the floor lamp berliner bratpfanne© (the berliner frying pan) didn‘t have an easy beginning. The designer, Fridtjof Schliephacke, was only able to delight the Berlin scene with a small-scale production of 100 lamps per year beginning in the 1980’s. Particularly fascinating: its multifunctionality.
As an identity symbol of many intellectuals, it was rejected by mainstream consumer society. Today the “frying pan” is, once again, a true Berlin classic. The floor lamp will be re-issued on the occasion of its 60th birthday as a special limited mawa edition. The edition, available in the colors of beige, grey, blue and red is limited to a total of 250 pieces.
Special feature: an individually engraved brass ring on the light socket with the individual edition number and spring-loaded, ball-shaped, pressure pins in the shaft for adjusting the arm of the luminaire.
