Became popular first in France as polyphonic chant, spreads in Europe as instrumental music starting from the eighteenth century, Anticipated for some aspects by the inventions of Vivaldi and Albinoni and used also by Mozart, Mendelsson and Beethoven, the Rondò, with its dynamic movements, but well-balanced with delicacy, accompanies musically the free and joyful explosion of Rococò, artistic-cultural movement that, celebrating the ephemeral and the exotic, will increase rapidly in the custom and in the arts of the lagoon city and will contribute in a determining way to the birth of the one that will be later identified as 'Venetian Style'. A style characterized by light shapes, by pastel tones and flexuous lines, by chiselled ornaments and stuccoes, by weaving and floral volutes, by balusters, barbicans and precious consoles, by subjects and squiggles inspired to the nature, enchanting and affected, caught by the imperturbable serenity of Tiepolo's and Canaletto's painting in that harmonious movement that is a praise to the creation and hymn to the eternal youth, in the soft atmosphere, refined and gallant of the Venice of the eighteenth century.
