Oda Upholstery fabric
This is Oda – a Fluid Flower
A contemporary flower design – is that possible? That was the challenge when the work started in the studio. After a lot of studies by making photos of several flowers and sketching to find the right rhythm and size the work started to make the right construction. The result is Oda, a large floral pattern. The development was to use a graphic process where a naturalistic flower was made in to a pattern, not looking like any flower design already known. Due to the 3-dimensional look one would think that the fabric is printed, but it is not. There has been made a construction with many different variations of twill- and satin bindings in combination with a special way of putting the yarn in the warp. Oda is jacquard woven with a repeat of 76cm. Though the big repeat the design allows cutting anywhere in the fabric.
The fabric is available in 10 different colours where the contrast is strongest in the black and midnight blue versions and more smooth in the lighter beige. If one wants to combine Oda with a plain fabric Vidar is a perfect match. Other interesting combinations could be the luxurious Håkon or the elegant Njord.
